Tottenham vs Chelsea

Willy Caballero – 6

A few nervy moments but nothing that ultimately he could not deal with.

Antonio Rudiger – 6

Looked mighty against Moura trapped into conceding an unlucky own goal.

Andreas Christensen – 7

May have been wearing a mask but no need for heroics – just a good solid show.

Cesar Azpilicueta – 7

A solid seven out of 10 – one more mark that he got from Lo Celso on his leg.

Reece James – 6

Azpilicueta’s presence allowed him to push forward with occasional joy.

Jorginho – 6

Kept Chelsea ticking relentlessly forward, dominating the possession stats.

Mateo Kovacic – 7

His energy disrupted any attempt by Tottenham to break clear of their shackles.

Marcos Alonso – 7

Offered width to Chelsea’s play high up the field – and unlucky with free-kick against the bar.

Ross Barkley – 8

Flashes of his old self-confidence in some of his creative play. Put in a shift too.

Mason Mount – 8

A rejuvenated performance and intelligent assist for the second goal.

Olivier Giroud – 9

Showed he can find the net when it matters and he started the move that led to the second.

Chelsea vs Arsenal

Kepa Arrizabalaga – 6

In a gripping London derby the Spaniard was given little to do bar pick the ball out of the net. Still he held well when Arsenal did come knocking.

Antonio Rüdiger – 7

Gives Chelsea a lot more stability at the back but the Blues defence remains staggered on the retreat as Arsenal countered. Made a critical header to snuff out a Gunners attack that allowed the Blues to turn it around and score the winner.

Kurt Zouma – 6

Gave away the ball too often when looking for a Hollywood pass, but at least he wanted to force a positive attack.

Fikayo Tomori – 6

Struggled in the three man backline as Emerson often left the wing exposed, meaning Tomori had to come over with gaps left behind. Adapted well when asked to fill in at right-back.

Emerson – 4

Was rightfully taken off as he offered nothing going forward and often left too much space for Tomori to cover.

Mateo Kovacic – 6

Looked the most likely to pick up the ball and create an attack but wasn’t offered too much support to work with. Seemed to be suffering from the hectic set of fixtures.

N’Golo Kante – 6

A rare day when the Frenchman often looked sloppy on the ball, giving it away cheaply. Unusual for Kante to be so careless at times, despite working up and down the Emirates pitch.

Mason Mount – 5

Worked hard off the ball but was lacking the killer pass or run to set up a scoring chance.

Willian – 8

Off the ball worked really hard to get things going for Chelsea and in possession the Brazilian showed drive. Excellent run and pass to set up Abraham’s winner.

Tammy Abraham – 7

Got his goal in a big game with an excellent finish. Was marshalled out by David Luiz throughout but was clinical at the vital time – a good sign for Chelsea fans.

Player Ratings: Billy Gilmour

I know he’s only played a few games for us probably less than 400 minutes (don’t quote me on that) but I think billy deserves a shout here. He made his debut against Sheffield United when Lampard subbed him on. He stepped up for us when we had our injury crisis with Kante and Jorginho suspended. He done brilliantly against Liverpool and Everton. He received man of the match in both fixtures. Reminder that he’s only 18 years old with a bright future ahead. At this time I don’t think I should give him a rating because we’ve only seen him actually play 2 full games against top sides.
